We were visiting with some friends and my friend was gently reprimanding her daughter for doing something (I think it was putting her own clothes under her mom's bed), and her response was something along these lines:

"But mom, I'm just trying to have a tiny bit of fun."

...Aren't we all, Eliza.

Tam, I hope it's okay to steal her phrase. It's my new favorite.

so I was driving in the car with all children (of course), listening to our favorite artist (Jack Johnson) when Haley said,

"Mom does God wear camouflage?"
Me: "Huh?"
Haley: "In the song, he says God wears camouflage."
Me: "Oh. Uh... I don't know" (think fast Janae) "What do you think Haley?"
Haley: "Yeah, I think God wears camouflage... cause you can't see Him."

I think I laughed and smiled at the same time. Amazing observer, that Haley.

Fall!

current mood: electric

I love Autumn. There is something about the chilly mornings that inevitably puts a smile on my face. Even though Southern California doesn't experience a drastic change in seasons, the flavor and scent of the air deepens a little, and the weather itself becomes more tangible. So bring on the football, and the pumpkins, and the turkeys, because fall is here (at officially 11:44 am)!
